The majority of you that know me personally and professionally know that I eat vegan. You also know that I am a cruelty-free makeup artist and don’t use any brand that sells in countries here animal testing is required. I do, however, use brand who’s parent companies aren’t cruelty-free.
Some people disagree with my views. They don’t think I should use stuff from brands with cruel parent companies.
I don’t judge and I am not some self righteous vegan who thinks the world needs to think how she does because that would be completely unrealistic. Cosmetic companies are around to turn a profit while making the world a more beautiful place.
Some of you self righteous vegans need to chill… seriously. You are making the rest of us look bad. Protest peacefully, don’t throw paint on people, and please leave me alone about the interior of my car…
…I bought my car many MANY years before I went vegan and I am not about to get another one or reupholster the whole thing. Reupholstering is expensive, my car is over 10 years old, and I will worry about it when the thing starts to fall apart. There is no reason to rip apart perfectly good seats.
Anyway lets get back to the point…
I believe its important to support a brand that is cruelty-free regardless of the parent company standings. They have more resources to make those cruelty-free and vegan products that we love. I feel it sends a message to the parent companies which observe the popularity of such brands like Urban Decay, Tarte, and Too Faced. It tells them that being cruelty-free can be profitable, ethical, and humane.
I respect your views as an individual. Respect mine.
Let’s make the world a more cruelty-free beautiful place together.
